Matthew FitzGerald, Psy.D.

Dr. Matthew FitzGerald (he, him, his) is a licensed clinical psychologist, and the founder of inpsych. He completed his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) at Loyola University Maryland following an earlier Masters at The Catholic University of America. His predoctoral internship was at the Center for Counseling & Student Development at the University of Delaware.

A Maryland native, Dr. FitzGerald has been committed to delivering the best in psychotherapy treatment within the Greater Washington, DC region for over 10 years. He has extensive experience working with professionals, government servants, students, active and retired military service members, couples, and families.

Dr. FitzGerald specializes in a contextual behavioral approach that uses knowledge about the way our brains work to clarify both what you deeply want and what is blocking you from living a life consistent with that.

He has successfully used this approach with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-criticism, impulse control, sexuality and LGBT issues, difficulty communicating, disconnection from others, and bringing more meaning into everyday life.
